The Best Way to Exercise your Freedom! - An Independence Day Ride to Tondol Beach, Anda Pangasinan
It was a fine Sunday morning, my husband and I were watching the news about the recent fish-kill issue in Pangasinan...we then became aware that there's a wonderful place out there - white sand beaches waiting to be discovered and explored, so we immediately changed into our riding jackets, wore our helmets and after a few minutes, my husband and I were off on the road again, DESTINATION: Tondol Beach, Anda Pangasinan.
Thanks to my husband's cellphone and to the wifi equipped gasoline stations, we were able to find our way through Google maps. It was around 3:00 in the afternoon when we reached ALAMINOS, home of the Hundred Islands - a famous Philippines tourist destination.
Barbecue and Coke for snacks as we rested in front of a sari-sari store in Alaminos. We stretched our muscles for the remaining one - hour travel to Tondol and as usual, our friend named "RAIN" never failed to let us feel her presence. We stayed under a waiting shed for about 15 minutes then we continued our journey to the so-called "Mother" of the Hundred Islands. It was around 5:00 noon when we arrived there and it was worth it!
We paid 5 pesos each for the entrance free. They charge 10 pesos per person for the use of their shower rooms.
After changing into our swimming clothes, we asked some of the locals whether the nearby Island (Tanduyong Island ) is accessible and I was personally amazed when one girl told me " Pwede kayong lumakad papunta dun Mam kc po low tide",
I can't believe what she said so i repeated my question, but then my husband whispered to me that what the girl said was exactly what he read from the blogs, Tondol Beach is at its best during low tide.
What a lucky day that was for us because we didn't have any plans of going there at all and we arrived there at just the perfect time, it was low tide!

We started walking through the shallow sea waters. On our way, my husband picked up something from the water and held it up, it was a Starfish! I'm only used to seeing them preserved and used as a decoration but here, it's alive! and there's plenty of them resting under the clear salty water.
After taking some pictures and videos, we then decided to go swimming. We were really amazed by the beauty of this place.
Tondol beach is not as famous as Boracay or Pagudpud but it has it's own unique beauty - clear waters, fine white sand, calm and peaceful scenery. Truly, a perfect way to relieve stress and escape from the noise and of the city.
